NewBook Appoints New CEO Following Recent Majority Stake Acquisition by Potentia Capital
Experienced digital growth CEO, former Senior Executive at eBay and, most recently, Managing Director at Autotrader/Carsguide, Shaun Cornelius has been appointed Chief Executive Officer for NewBook.
The move comes off the back of a period of strong growth for NewBook, a leading provider of booking and property management software for the accommodation industry.
Cornelius needs no introduction to the tech industry with extensive experience leading various high-growth digital companies, including Australian based startups. With an entrepreneurial spirit, Cornelius
has worked in South Africa, London and San Jose starting with Deloitte and working for a venture capital fund before moving to eBay Australia. He went on to lead InfoChoice before founding insurance comparison site, Choosi and going on to leading several high growth businesses.
Backed by technology-focused private equity firm, Potentia Capital, the appointment of Cornelius as NewBook’s CEO is part of an ambitious growth strategy for the business.
Cornelius will lead NewBook into its next growth phase with further investment in development, customer support and go-to-market capabilities, ultimately catapulting NewBook’s global expansion.

Cornelius will transition into the CEO role throughout August. He joins the Executive Team of Erin Stevenson, Dean Kelly, Nic Chin and Kate Dixon who combined, have over 30 years of accommodation industry experience.
